Natwest and RBS have announced that their Platinum credit cards are now available online. Natwest and RBS have also increased the interest-free balance transfer period for the Platinum cards to 16 months.

Previously both the Natwest Platinum credit card and the RBS Platinum credit card offered 15 months zero per cent interest on balance transfers.

The move sees the NatWest and RBS balance transfer credit card deals become one of the most competitive balance transfer offers on the market.

The balance transfer credit card market is becoming incredibly competitive. There are now over 29 companies offering deals for longer than 12 months. In the previous year, the total number of companies offering this was only 19. Also, the number of cards charging no interest on new purchases for at least 10 months has increased by 450% in the last year.

“Our platinum card is by far the most popular credit card we provide, and we wanted to make it even more competitive by extending the balance transfer window,” says Hugh Chater, Director of Everyday Banking at NatWest and RBS.

“We know our customers value the flexibility and convenience of having a 0% balance transfer facility, and we are committed to offering attractive and helpful products that customers really value.”
